Hello Everyone!
As you know, i found the holy grail of Alliance and Encore in Quapaw Oklahoma, thanks to posts i saw here.
The man's name is Roy, he owned an auto repair shop and used car dealer in Quapaw during the 1980's. He had a partner who went around buying cars for the lot, he found many Renaults with mechanical problems.
Roy liked the little cars, and was interested in fixing them to sell at their car lot, so they bought as many as they could find. He claims to have sold over 20 of them through the years.
The partner moved on to other interests, leaving Roy with a surplus of various cars, including many Renaults.Roy has long since retired, and only tinkers with them when he has the time.
He has about 15 Renaults, Alliance 2dr & 4dr, a few Encores, but only one cabrio, and it was heavily damaged in the rear. He also has many parts in the surrounding building.
Brenda and i had a short time frame to work in, 4 hrs, as Roy had other commitments that day, and since we where strangers to him, we spent an hour just chatting and getting to know each other.
Men of his generation must come to know and trust before one is allowed to inspect his lot.
So, i gave Brenda the camera and told her to take pics of all the cars, while i got busy trying to find the parts we wanted. I did not get to inspect everything, and i know there are more parts still to be found, but i did get many good pieces.
For myself, a good hood, 4 Ronal GTA wheels w/ center caps, a spare JB3 5 speed, manual window regulators, 86 instrument cluster, 2 front seats in red cloth and a few bits and pieces.
I was also able to obtain some of the parts members had asked for, but not all that was requested.
Not to worry though, i have secured the ability to go back and spend more time sorting through his lot and find more good parts.
I have put some pictures together in an album herehttp://imageshack.us/g/1/9826476/
I hope you enjoy the pictures, i will try to get better ones on our next trip!
I will also post another topic, with some thing we saw along the way.
Best Wishes!
Geoffrey

Hi All!
The trip to Quapaw went well, i got some parts for myself, and some for RACP members.
Due to the limited time we had, i did not get everything i wanted, but i have made a new friend, and have been invited to come back for more parts.
I am getting some pictures downloaded, and will post them in the near future.
For those who requested parts, i have/will email each of you with the details.
That's all i have time for now, but i will post more as soon as i can!
Thanks!
Geoffrey

Ok!
Eduardo, glad we cleared up the color issue, the interior moldings will be from a coupe or sedan, not a cabriolet, they will need to be trimmed to fit, that is how the factory did it. moldings in cordovan as well?
Francios, you are too easy!
Now, waiting to hear from Cyrille.........

Let me be sure of what is needed, translations can be difficult.
Eduardo, central pedestal, the center console where the radio and heater controls are?
Complete control auto trans...The gear selector and cable, or electronic control box?
Lateral panels..trim panel from dash to top of the windscreen inside?
Sunvisors in "tan" color?
Cyrille, mouldings...mid door from front wheel to rear wheel?
Standard radio..AM FM?
Which sentry sensors, please list them, as i am not sure how many, oil level, coolant etc.
Francois, switches for both doors?
Inst. cluster with tachometer?
I am afraid the window trim will be in bad condition, we shall see.

Good news! I have found the owner!
His name is Roy, 87 yrs old, bought all the wrecked or broken Alliances and Encore he could find.
He would then repair them and put them up for sale, because "they are such good little cars!"
The years have caught up with him, and is no longer able to work on them. He is now ready to part with them, if they are used for parts, not for scrapping.
I have made an appointment with him for this saturday at 8am, but he would only give me 4hrs on his lot, so i will take pictures, obtain as many parts as i can, and talk him into letting me come back!
He also told me that the Dauphine? was sold last week.
Francois, i will see if the parts you need are there, and Cyrille, where you looking for alloy wheels?
Any other parts that are needed, give me your list, and i'll see if they are there

Yes, i have found it!
3 hours drive from our home, Brenda and i will be making a trip there soon.
I am attempting to find the owner, seems the Mr. has passed away, the Mrs. wants to sell what she can.
But i do not have confirmation of that.
I will take some pictures and take inventory of the good parts, and may make them an offer on all the Renaults. We shall see.
Anyone need anything? Let me Know.

Yes, that's the one.
I thought it would be cheaper to ship parts within the same continent, as opposed to shipping from the states.
If anyone has what they need, they would love to hear from you

Good Day RACP members!
I have found a group in Dresden Germany who are restoring an Alliance cabrio, They received it completely dis assembled, and have discovered it is missing the front and rear bumpers. [U.S.style]
I have the pieces they need, but shipping prices from the U.S. are VERY high.
So, i thought i would ask if any RACP members might have the parts, and would be willing to sell and ship them to this group.
The group is Arc de Renault Saxonia, and you can see their work on their website.
If any of you can help, i can give you a contact via email.
Thanks All, and have a great day!
Geoffrey

Thanks for the edit Cyrille, i added a few more pics.
I managed to do it right this time!
#65 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Cherche 4 moulures de lèche-vitres(weather strips)Renault Alliance1985 » 2012-09-27 19:57:21
OK, i will try to get this to work!
First, remove the old felt and wiper lip with the belt sander.
Next, fill all cracks with 'super glue'. Sand off any extra glue.
Clean with soapy water, thoroughly dry, then coat with Plasti-dip.
This is new belt weatherstrip from Fairchild industries, #1181 mr172x.
I ordered it through Rock Auto .com.
Cut to proper length
Test fit
Use this adhesive to bond to the outer piece, then when you install on the car, you will drill holes for screws, or use self tapping screws

renlev, those pieces are very rare, i have searched with no luck.
I am currently rebuilding a set for one of my restorations, i will put together some photos and text on how to restore them.
It will take me a few days to get that done, be patient!

Looks like everyone had fun!
#68 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Ronal center caps » 2012-09-04 15:29:02
For you GTA owners, there are 4 new in the package center caps for GTA Ronal wheels on e-bay U.S.
I thought some RACP members might need them

#69 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Alliance convertible banner » 2012-09-01 20:08:01
I am sorry to see that you did not win the banner, but creating a copy of it is an excellent idea!
I know you have the same resources in France, graphics, sign and banner shops, it should be easy for one of them to make a reproduction.
Good luck, i hope it turns out well!

Good luck with the auction, i will follow with interest.
I hope you get it at a good price, this banner needs to be with the RACP!
#71 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Alliance convertible banner » 2012-08-29 22:02:49
When former AMC dealers go out of business they have public auctions.
He may have purchased them as a box of assorted advertising material?
Who knows? The important thing is that it has become available!
#72 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Alliance convertible banner » 2012-08-27 22:44:06
Be sure to inform me if the club or club member wishes to bid on the banner.
I do not want to bid against club members.
#73 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Alliance convertible banner » 2012-08-27 19:35:55
Hi all, up for sale on e-bay U.S., a new dealership banner for the Alliance convertible.
Type in amc renault, and sort by newly listed, second from the top.
It looks really nice, and i have placed a bid on it, BUT, i feel it would be better for Club Passion to use it in your displays!
Sorry i have not been active here for some time, summer is for camping and boating, and we have been busy having fun!
Brenda's car is still awaiting paint and trim, and i will report when i get back to working on her.
Best wishes to my friends in France!

If you don't mind me asking, who owns the cars in the display?
Are they club members cars?
