Ahh, Cyrille, you always find the details w

The steering wheel is at a local leather shop getting a new leather wrap.

The marker lights are part #77.01.349.089, and yes they are a direct fit.

Yes, the hoses are available, $77.00 for each of the 2 sets, i can fix mine for about $30.00.

For the bumper, i was trying to take a short cut, but realize it would not look proper, and i have another set at home being sanded and prepared for painting. wink

Yes, the more screws the better.....:q

Here are some more pictures of our work on Brenda's car. The painting is complete, the polishing will be complete after 1 more pass with the buffer.
A few pictures of Brenda helping with the wet sanding, she does not like me taking pictures of her!:ange:
New licence marker lights, not the exact replacements, but they are genuine Renault pieces.
Also the dash being installed, work on the hydraulic lines for the top, the carpet laid out to relax, and the rear bumper cover.
I had painted it black to hide the many inperfections, but now have decided to go back to the original look with only the black stripe in the middle. More sanding and painting ouin
Still much work to be done, but it all gets easier as assembly work progresses!

Did anyone else notice in the first picture, the cars have no bumper covers.

Very strange!

#33 Re : Votre Renault Alliance » Rebuilding Brenda's 1985 Alliance DL » 2013-01-16 16:38:44

Thank you, Eduardo and Cedric smile

Cyrille, for the fenders, yes, that made it easier to do the mechanical work on the front.

As for the doors, that's another story, i was going to replace the drivers door, it was damaged. Then, as i was moving things around the shop with my forklift, i struck the passengers door with the machine and damaged it beyond repair kaola

Once again, i am very good at making more work for myself!

#35 Re : Votre Renault Alliance » Rebuilding Brenda's 1985 Alliance DL » 2013-01-09 21:35:18

It has been a long time since i have posted an update, summer was busy camping and boating!

Now it's time to get back to work on Brenda's car!

After many hours of body work and sanding, we now have epoxy primer, hi build primer, and the first base coat of color bravo

Here are a few pictures, i will edit and post more as time allows.

I hope everyone had a good holiday season, and Brenda and I wish you all the best for the new year!http://imageshack.us/g/1/9957009/

#36 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Grills » 2012-12-15 01:02:44

I think you might be biased in your opinion, Cyrille w

Eduardo may prefer white, Cedric, silver Metallic...Francois and myself midnight black wink

I think each color is  fine, as long as it's on a Renault!

#37 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Grills » 2012-12-14 16:25:28

Yes, i believe i do, B8594 Dupont, and/or 3695 Ditzler.

When i spoke to the man mixing the paint, he looked up the paint code on his Dupont data base, and that # matched his information.

I will do a test spray before painting to be sure the color is correct bien

Cedric, yes, i did ask about 86-87 grilles. The man told me these would fit 83-87 Encore or Alliance.

Of course, we know that is not correct, but the label on the grille does say 83-87 Encore/Alliance reflexion

I will look at my 86 grille to see if there is any way it would work.

On a side note, i have Brenda's car primered, and i ordered paint and clearcoat today, 5c red metallic.
I hope the paint is a good match, as the last time i painted her, the color was not right.

I will post some pictures as i get her painted rs

An update on the grille......

The first one arrived without a box, just shrink wrapped. As you can imagine, it was broken.:non:

I emailed the seller, he promptly send another one, this time it was boxed to protect it from damage:bravo:

It looks to be an old aftermarket item from Continental Auto Parts, Newark New Jersey. It is a nice, well built grille, good chrome plating, and solid construction.

I would recommend them for those who need a new grille.

My camera is at home, i will bring it tomorrow and snap some pictures.

Yes, that is the listing.

I had them e-mail me a picture, and i hope i have pasted it to this post.

The listing also states that they ship to international destinations, so it may be possible for them to ship to France if the cost is not too much.

#41 Re : Discussions autour de la Renault Alliance » Grills » 2012-11-29 02:30:37

I have seen that some of you need a new grill for your Alliance.

I found some new reproduction grills on E-bay U.S., i have ordered one, and will report on their quality when it arrives.

These are for the 83-85 models, but may be able to be modified for the 86-87's.

#43 Re : International Area » Alliance bumpers » 2012-10-24 15:58:14

Hello Gerard,

Thank you for the English smile

The bumpers are not for me, they are for Dirk, he lives in Dresden Germany.

I was trying to help them find bumpers within the European continent as shipping costs from the U.S. are very expensive.

Do you have the honeycomb inner pieces as well as the outer covers? As they need both pieces for the front and the rear.

If you have what they need, it may be best to have them contact you to arrange the sale.

Thank you for your help on this matter!

Geoffrey

This morning i got a mail delivery failure notice, so i will send it again.

Sorry for the delay......:(

Geoffrey

Somehow i knew you where going to say that!  w

How many wheels do you need?

GTA rims : from a convertible or a 2-door model ?

I don't know, they where already off the car, stored inside.

I did not see a GTA on his lot.....

I was thinking of putting them on my car, but i may just leave the original wheels on her, what do you think?
